Well if you have that done, I can't see how you won't love it. I asked Vinh about adding a resistor to one. If the low was sub lumen I'd be in heaven.

Sounded like it would be experimental. I asked if a resistor is added if it would drop all out levels equally and his response was that that would be likely. I feel like I ask him to do the opposite of what a lot of his customers ask him to do

The Fenix E01 V2 has become a surprising favorite and is back on the keyring now. Auditions are officially over.

I don't EDC the E01 anymore. Instead, the Sofirn C01 is on my keychain and C01S attached to my Victorinox Executive in my front pocket. I EDC others together with this as well.

I mean the E01 V2. I thought you had ended up ordering one for yourself and I wanted to see how you liked it.
I did and If you can believe it, it still hasn't been delivered from Fenix yet. One of the longest shipments I've ever waited on.

I gotcha. Please give us your thoughts once you've had some time to play with it. I've found it to be well built with nicely spaced out modes. It is a bit bland, but so am I at times.

I got one of the new TINI 3's when Nitecore had it on sale for $29.
The things I like are all objectively good; the things I don't like are matters of taste for me, so maybe you will like them:
Good things:
Increased turbo from 500 to 600
Increased runtime on 1 lumen from 60 hours to 85 hours. Awesome! an additional 25 hours.
Increased battery capacity from 280mah to 330mah
Bad things:
Lost "demo" mode. I liked having this as a secondary lock-out -- if an accidental button-press somehow overrides the standard lock-out, then at least the demo mode will shut it down in 30 seconds.
Added diffuser to front lens. The TINI2 had much more of a hotspot. Now the TINI3 has a diffuse blob. Me no like. But I realize this is a matter of taste.
Meh things:
The temperature-switching (cool, neutral, warm) is a gimmick in my view. The CRI on this is fairly poor, like mid-60s. If they wanted to put in a fancy emitter, I would much rather have a really hi CRI number than the ability to switch temperatures. Yes, I have aesthetic preferences for color temperatures. But I would rather have 95 CRI at any temperature. This is a "meh" issue both because I know many people will feel just the other way, and because I don't think the CRI on the TINI2 was any better, so this is not a step backwards for the TINI 3.
The shape is slightly different, not better not worse. The TINI2 is a slab-sided box; the TINI3 has angled sides but is slightly thicker. The floor-plan of both is about identical, though the TINI3 grew trivially (length: 1.83 > 1.86; width 0.98 > 1.00). It is still a tiny light, no bigger than the last joint on my thumb. If you want a more streamlined shape, the TINI3 is better; if you want to pack it into a box, the TINI2 is better.
Overall, it's an amazing tiny light. Ridiculous output or amazing runtime, from a light the size of a postage-stamp. Recharges on USB-C, or runs while recharging. I wish they had not put a diffuser pattern on the TIR lens, and I wish they had kept the "demo" mode as an option. But otherwise, good improvements.

If you can completely pull the electronics, optics, and seal components out, then NaOH will take anodizing right off. Just put the parts in a plastic bowl in a sink, spray on some NaOH oven cleaner (or some other NaOH source), gently agitate/spread it on with a chemical resistant brush, wait a few minutes, rinse with water and repeat until it's all gone.

Love this keyring light thread. I will have to get a group picture of all the ones i have accumulated thus far. Way too many names and numbers to get correct off the top of my head. The one i like the most carry most but oddly don't have it with me now is the Olight that comes on when you pull it apart and has one mode at 50 lumens. I usually have it on a tiny carabiner hooked to my right belt loop or clipped to my shorts waste band.

Let's see that pic @Buff! Well my keyring has already changed again. Was standing in line at UPS to ship a small box of lights that are going to another member in a trade and pulled the E01 V2 off my keyring and dropped it in the box before it got taped shut. Also tossed in the Alox Classic that was on my keyring, so back to the scaleless one and back to the i3e, but the real deal i3e with 15 lumens of tasty Nichia goodness.
