@Monocrom Thank you for posting that video. I was unaware of his illness and passing. I used to be a regular viewer of youtube firearm videos years ago, and had seen numerous of Paul's videos and held him in high esteem, because he actually tested ammo with meat, not gel, or water jugs. His test results seemed to have more credibility than many other youtube "experts". I am saddened by his passing, and wish his family peace and healing. He will be missed.

My 2023 honda rebal 500 has dang near 30000 miles on it .i just need to adjust valves been overdue but its a shim system and i have to take it aprt to see what shims im needing and the valve is under much stufff. But bike runs like a top only 500 cc but in 6 th gear i can be going up hill at 70 mph and if i needed to pass s9meone i dont even need to downshift . Id guess bike will do 110 mph and i never need to go that fast .

Yea, honda is not what it used to be, I still lease hondas, but i liked older versions of some models better, I had 3 accords, the best one was 2006, I also had 09, and 2012, 09 felt more like buick than a honda as far as ride. 2012 was no different, but internal panels were made of thinner, crappier plastic.
In my 2006 I could easily put most of my weight on an elbow rested on door panel, with 2012, the panel would make creaking noises, and i felt how it deformed under the weight, it also moved in and out with the windows going up and down. all of this would not be that important, if it still had ride quality of 2006 accord, but no, it is no longer like that, i even test drove their sport model 2025, still not as tight as older suspension. Their pilot however is better now then previous generation, but new odyssey comes with issues, very common leaks in the rear quarter, people open tailgates and entire rear "tub" where rear seats fold is flooded, body garps are not sealed properly from the factory. Also their interior designers forgot they are designing a family van. Newer designs are not as comfortable, nor practical. that pass thru from front row to second row is gone from most vans on the market, not just honda, unfortunately. interior panel of odyssey are thin as well, and very easily broken by kids, vents especially, older model were better designed, by people who designed a vehicle for a purpose, not like today, stick every new gadget and feature we can to upsell the car.

I liked the first generation of odyssey the best...it was basically a minivan converted accord. For a while, the design was used by izuzu, sold as the Oasis, and the Rodeo was sold as some honda model, I can't remember...

Could be the difference between the made in Japan ones and the made in USA models. But I don't know what models are made in US or when they began to be made here, and which ones are made in Japan.

The Japanese have a fantastic work ethic, and work hard to not embarrass themselves or their company's products with any defects. US workers don't have that same devotion to their companies. The Japanese and European car manufacturers made so much headway in the USA beginning back in the 1970s because the US auto workers did not care about the quality, and turned out crappy cars. Gaps, seams not lining up, lock washers missing, etc.

When I was a boy growing up, my late older brother and I would go around to the motorcycle shops and look at bikes and dream. Our dealerships carried, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BSA, Triumph, Harley Davidson. Now, I don't think there is a motorcycle dealership left in town.

Since mid 80s Honda started building cars in USA. My 2012 accord did not have a single even gap between body panels, and it was not just my car, I noticed a photo in their accord brochures /website also had uneven gaps. Was not an issue with other models and years, thou it is barely noticeable cosmetic issue, did not affect reliability, or anything else, not to mention it was sub 25k car, but it was not there before.
