I was saddened when I heard the details today. It’s unfortunate and likely rare; the cause of Betsy’s death. She probably thought she just had a bad cold.
I’m not fully aware of Gene’s state of health before his death, it obviously wasn’t good, but to think that he lasted another week in the house after his wife passed is terribly sad. With Alzheimers he possibly wasn’t cognitive of much and without the care of his wife, that I assume he relied on heavily, he simply perished.

There have been reports that in his advanced stage he never noticed that she had died a week ago. Advanced Alzheimers does get that bad.
