Storm Checkin

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Im fine, was not in harms way with any of the storms. They did cause alot of downed trees on houses and roads and power outages in SE Ky.

Southeastern Arizona never gets any weather. We are safe.

We've had several storms hitting our friends in the Southeast.

Please post here, and let us know you're okay!
All clear here. Beautiful weather actually - cooling in the evenings, still 90's daytime but hopefully not much longer. Two events earlier this year including Beryl, which went directly over us, but minimal damage - fence, trees, shingles (we were lucky). Loss of electricity for an extended period for the second time wasn't fun, but worse could have happened. Grateful that we're not in N. Carolina or Florida.

Every thing good here in upstate New York.them poor people that have lost everything bothers me deeply. Not sure how I would handle losing everything and having to start over again 😢

I live in NC very close to where the damage was. Luckily we were spared in my location. I do have family that was hit hard though. My son lives in Boone NC and he said most of the stores are closed due to flooding.

Helene was well West of me but gave us a drought busting 7" of gentle rain over a three day period.

Milton split between my relatives in Fla. They are all doing ok despite massive rains and high winds. The group to the North of Milton live about an hour North of Tampa. Their streets were flooded but the storm sucked all of the water out of the bay when it made landfall so no storm surge.
The group to the South live on Okachobee. They lost some trees but still had power the whole time. Twisters were the big issue in that area.

In Sarasota, FL with some trees down and some screens out on the pool cage. Yard and streets a mess. Power and cell phone access just returned moments ago. Had to pull out the chain saw to clear the driveway. We are fine but there will be a lot to clean up.

All good over in NYC. Guess a perk of living here is your safe from major storms generally speaking, non that happen here.
Been years since we've had a heavy dumping of snow as well.
Quite mild over the past few years.

I appreciate the concern. But I can say that I'm thankfully safe where I am. And, I'm very concerned about others members. Thank you Mister. Ed for having created this topic.
