Goddamned liter'o'cola. Good question, maybe, for some reason, they figure it's cheaper to partition the liters so they can charge/bill more per unit producted? I dunno how that business works.

I drove a Dr. Pepper truck for a month back when we still had returnable glass bottles...yeah, glass bottles are HEAVY! This was in the summer, June or July, I don't remember, and it was HOT IN TOPEKA! No, I wasn't in Topeka, that's a throwback joke to a weather thread post on CPF...nevermind.
But now that I'm retired, I wish we could go back to the returnable glass soda bottles, I think the soda tasted better. Remember the bottle tops (crowns, in the industry) that had cork in them, before it was replaced with plastic?! Yeah, I'm really dating myself here. A local theater used to give movie admission on Saturdays during summer vacation, for so many Coke bottle caps. My late brother and I used to dig the caps out of the vending machines! :crackup: Wow, I remember having to use a churchkey can opener to open cans of soda, before the pull tabs came out! Time flies...

I've stocked up! Why?.... because some executive sommabeech at Pepsi cut off NYC's supply of Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry in 2 liter bottle form. Heck, not just 2 liters, ANY bottles! Also, I work 3rd shift. It might as well be 8:15Pm for me instead of Am for everyone else.

Rich?? There might be one or two closet millionaires on CPF who have been here for years. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that most of my fellow members are broke as Hell. Hey, that's life in America in 2026. But.... You spend money on the good stuff, and once in awhile you sit back and enjoy it.
Thankfully, with flashlights, this is still one of the cheapest hobbies out there. I try not to think about the fact that my collection over the decades would easily equip a small army of men with illumination.

What am I drinking? Not enough!!!
Finished up my work-week. Nothing too stressful at all.
Looked forward to my couple of days off.... Yesterday was one of them.
Dealt with an Uber who barely spoke English and understood none of it! That caused a ridiculous game of phone-tag among 3 adults. Myself included. Things seemed to be fine at the conclusion of it. Unfortunately a close family member ended up bleeding from the shin (rather badly)! Yes, same one involved in the phone-tag who needed the transportation. (Different Uber driver got the job done.) Blood all over the place. Yes, I do have a First-Aid kit. Plenty of gauze, medical wrap, and medical tape. Not just band-aids in small assorted sizes.
So, that's how my night went. Bandage up the shin. Stopped the bleeding.... a river of water poured out from the injury later on. Re-do the job again. Hour later, less water. But Re-do it yet again. Thankfully the river dried up by then. None of the Uber drivers had small step-stools in their mini-vans. Due to that, night of April 22nd, 2026 turned out to be VERY exciting for me.... For all the wrong reasons! Also, family member is fine. It looked much worse than it really was. Dawn dish-water detergent and a very aggressive/rough sponge with plenty of elbow grease does a fantastic job of cleaning off blood from cushioned furniture and rugs!
Did use an old 2C LED Task Light that lives on top of my fridge, to inspect the wound.
Yesterday also happened to be the Birthday of the most toxic, piece of $#&% ASMR-tist I ever got to know personally, online. Jim Jones level of charm (not exaggerating). Thankfully she quit YouTube awhile back. Ironically because she was recognized on her somewhat medium success of a channel by the owner of the petting zoo where she volunteered at, in her home country. He asked her to leave and never come back. She asked him why, he mentioned her channel. Didn't think her risque content was appropriate for a children's petting zoo. I think that legit bothered her. Left YT very soon afterwards. Still a miserable human-being though who used people for money and gifts. Only thing I learned from her is that all you need to start an ASMR channel is a phone, and a pile of books for an improvised phone-stand. So years later, I created my own ASMR channel on YT, along with my main channel too. (Though I use an actual phone-stand.)
Glad yesterday is over!

I don't remember needing a can opener for sodas, but I do remember the pull-tab beer cans. When I remodeled our condo in 2000, I found one wall full of pull-top beer cans from 1973, along with a work light.
One of the few good memories I have of my dad was when we were in Mexico City, staying in a questionable hotel. I'm sure it was a wonderful place in the 70s, but age and earthquakes hadn't been kind to it. So my dad wanted to end the night with a beer, but we couldn't find anything to open the bottle in the room. He showed me how to open up using the metal frame of the window.
Shortly after making my last post on here, grabbed an early dinner; and a 6-pack of cold Red Stripe beer. Felt much better after two beers. That brand is very common in my neighborhood. Taste specifically engineered to be non-offensive (nothing wrong with that). Just a bit of skunkiness (the right amount for an inexpensive beer). And, specifically engineered for hotter climates (great for Summer).
