I like the existing MDC AA.

If the MDC AAA became a reality, I hope it would be similar to the AA, with at least the two lowest settings. I don't think I would have much of a use for high.

I take night time walks and 9 lumens is plenty with the AA, just bright enough but not annoying to others.

My wish is a MDC-sized single-output twisty that utilizes the high-low ring functionality.

I’ll take it in AA 90 lm (H) - 8 lm (L) and AAA 8lm (L) - .3lm (LL) formats with the 10 degree optic / 5 degree filter from the Wildcat.

I also wouldn’t be opposed to the Cree XPL used in the Wildcat as the neutral tint is wonderful. Although, I think a good majority of us would prefer the SST-20 in 5700k and 3000k for the Cool and Neutral options, respectively (if you won’t give us Nichias that is (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Please and thank you!

Edit: Included proposed output levels for AA and AAA options.

Edit 2: Included proposed optics.

3000K and 4000K SST-20 for life! :P

I like the beam better with the SST-20 than the 519A options, even though the 519A clearly has a higher CRI and a more neutral beam.

BUT, that all being said, the 519A is the best for no tint shift, especially at lower outputs.

Also, with some M31 dropins, if Gene made a high/low ring meant for the M31, your dream could be a reality, albeit in an MD3.
That would be sooooo good. I can get the H/L ring to work in a 2xAA format with my M31L. It's so awesome.

In terms of the filters, Those could hypothetically be an aftermarket option!
You can take the Wildcat one on and off.

IIRC, @NH Lumens used to sell filters he'd made for different lights. The material isn't cheap though, and I think he'd stop selling it after catching so much grief from people about the cost.

Yeah, if it was the MDC AA, but just a smaller, lower capacity version, that'd be kind of perfect. It's the best mode spacing, ever.
