Well, I like HDS lights for that and was referring more to HDS lights doing that in a more simple package. However, we were seeing lights that had lots of other bells and whistles and more recent technologies, some good features but quite a few just to have an additional line item on the page... -

It sounds like Henry pulls bezels out of a bin... And some of the ones mixed in with the bin weren't quite right. Same parts bins as the standard lights, so there's a good chance yours is fine. I just got lucky. The good news is, if it doesn't happen quickly, it probably won't happen. -

That would be optimal since it's an easy replacement part :). At first try w/ the HDS FAQ, I was having difficulty getting the reflector separated from the bezel, hence "damn, send it in." But just got them separated. :twothumbs -

Thanks, I'll be doing that. Just that after 4-5 months of waiting for it, really don't want to have to send it right back in. It does look like it's something to do with the prep of the bezel or something else with the coating. Makes sense if there was a batch with issues. -

So here's an interesting one.... Took my Group Buy 4000K w/18650 on vacation last week. It got sprayed with sea water the first day. I rinsed it with fresh water shortly after. Woke up to this: So... that's after 1 week's worth of use, 12 hours after a salt water spray/fresh water rinse... -

I've been beating the crap out of my clickies for 7 or 8 years now and never had an issue, they are virtually indestructible. Just got the Rotary 4000k, based on these comments and some others, they aren't quite as tank like as the clicky? I plan on tossing it into the ocean a few times while... -

Thank you for the update, Dan. I'm also ok installing the piece later myself to have them shipped now. f5: Though I guess that for a light like this and with the timeframe, I'd rather have that last little 1% to make it 100% complete and that much closer to perfect. Appreciate the hard work... -
