resistor or electronic flasher with LED turn signals

My preference goes with relay when possible. Many modern vehicles use proprietary relays that cannot simply be replaced or upgraded - those days are gone.

    Urgent LED Selection Question

Rather than go through dealing with sucky sockets, try putting DOT-spec trailer lights behind the lenses. Basically, they will replace the socket/reflector part. Yes, it will require some cutting & fabricating, but it should get the job done without too much pain. They come in all colors, shapes...

State of aftermarket LEDs for tailights?

They are smart boys and girls - surely they can come up with something workable :-/ Until LED bulbs accurately mimic incandescent filament output (with the advantages of LED tech) in a 3-dimensional space, we will experience wide-ranging variable results - none of which will be 100%...

State of aftermarket LEDs for tailights?

If Sylvania could add front-firing LEDs to the bulbs in their Zevo line, I think they would nail it. The rear-firing LEDs work admirably, but leave a shadow at the front of the bulb. In cars with sockets centered in the reflector area, that shadow is visible. I have to say, the brake circuit is...

So right now (end of 2017) are there any LED headlights that beat HID?

In-my-humble-opinion: With the myriad nuanced design differences between vehicles, even if you compare projector-projector, etc, and the DOT "standards" to which they are designed/manufactured (don't even get me started on the so-called "DOT-compliant" Chinese aftermarket), halogen is still the...

    Replacement for 5/21W tail light

I tried the ZEVO 1157R in my '82 Seca650 and holy cow - it is bright! There is substantial output differential between running and brake light, making it a worthwhile option. Unfortunately, for my bike, the reflector is swaged to the socket and the "shoulder" of the bulb (where the base meets...

What I found on the shelf today in a major auto parts store

The Zevo "Y" lamps are definitely bright (1156 too bright for running lights), but you have to test to be sure. They didn't play well with my '96 Saab 9000.

    Pulse-Decay Flasher

So I have this idea - today's flasher modules are on/off, on/off, etc. How about on/fade, on/fade? I can see this being particularly beneficial with LED lighting; you get the instant-on without the stark instant-off. I wish I could describe my idea better...

I won't trust Hella bulbs any more.

I had Hella 80/100 H4s (for off roading, of course) and blew through low beams a lot - even with a proper relay harness. Electrics tested OK. I complained to Hella about this and they sent me 10 pair of replacements. I believe they were manufactured in India. They didn't last very long, but at...

Worst unsafe headlight mod I have personally seen.

What lights are these? And recommend an option for me?

These look like driving lights, not fog lights.
