Re: Candidates for Oslon White

Damn I shoulda sent you more. I'm really curious on the TN40. I'm theorizing 3200 lumen, 750k lux. Of course what I'm really looking for down the line is the Osram Boost HX-- delivering XHP35 HI output in a die closer to the size of a Black Flat/white.

Damn I shoulda sent you more. It was too generous of your to send me 5 already. They were very pricey. I owe you one.

Will triples in Oslon white in the Genesis be considered? The SL2 in triples sounds pretty cool too.

Amutorch X9 would be interesting as well. Would it outthrow D4S?

that amutorch is sorta interesting because of the size. But for some reason, the triple reflectors didn't do very well with the oslon emitter.
Vinh put flat blacks in the c8fvn which has a bigger triple reflector head than the amutorch x9, and it only got 1900 lumens and 140kcd. Maybe he needs to try that light again with the white flats? It should be more like 2100 lumens and 180kcd.

Re: Candidates for Oslon White

From here on out I will refer to this LED as the White1. 1 for 1mm^2. There will be a White2 for 2mm^2. Has more lumen but less throw. There will be another thread for the White2.

Re: Candidates for White1

Might that White2 you're referring to be the Osram Oslon Boost HX? Or is it the CSLPM1.TG?

Re: Candidates for White1

6500K tint only

White1 = W1 = OSRAM KW CSLNM1.TG – 1mm2 = 960L @ 5A/3.4Vf

White2 = W2 = OSRAM KW CSLPM1.TG – 2mm2 = 1550L @ 8.5A/3.3Vf

This suggest W1 has more throw as it has about 25% more surface brightness

W1 has more lumens than the flat black. Does this mean the flat black still the throw leader between the three? The w2 actually sounds quite impressive. 1550 lumens and if it throws like a dedomed xpg2..... That would be super awesome.

Re: Candidates for White1

The first thing that sprung into my head was if the 2mm white flat were big enough to be focused successfully in the shallow but wide reflector of the Catapult V6.

Giving up a quarter of the throw for twice the output is a pretty good tradeoff imo.

Really? Many people on BLF are saying the White Flats out throw the Black Flats.
