What led did they use?

On post #59, this one:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?363367-Surefire-LX2-still-relevant
says:
"The older SureFire L2 had a Luxeon emitter, but not the LX2. It has a Cree XR-E."

And here is a good overview of the light, though the many pics are unavailable. He updated his 2009 review with a 2012 update that said he got the newer LX2 and the lumens tested more like 35/250:

Always liked the old r2. Better thrower than the XP-G. I had an lx2 years ago but didn't have a great use for it. Beam too narrow for indoors use. Other flashlights throw better for outdoor use. $85 is too much for me to spend for a beautiful light I won't use very often if ever. I'm a user not a collector but I must admit I'm tempted. Fortunately they're likely all gone by now anyway.

You know you want one for the user interface alone. [emoji106] That is pure genius.

There is a movie made by Woody Allen where he was in a cab with a lady and he says: "You are so beautiful I can hardly keep my eyes of the taxi meter"

Just FYI, the discussion forums are not really for promoting a particular seller or dealer .... Would be good for the discussion in this thread to move on from "coupon codes" , levels of remaining stock, and such.

Thanks in advance ;)

I love my 15/200 LX2, despite the fact the plastic lanyard ring disintegrated a few years ago. Did they ever make one with more than 200 lumen output? Much as I love its throw, I still crave more in this age of 500+ lumens lights!

The next incarnation was the EB2 backup, the 500 lumen version which had the option of the tactical configuration. Its no longer available.

It SHOULD have been the LX2 Ultra, but it was never released. The next version of an E Series tactical light will be the YM2. The "Yeager Light" is in prototype stages. He showed it on his channel a few weeks ago. It's no longer a two stage twisty, but a push for momentary, twist for constant on, with low available by loosening the head, like the Malkoff MD2.

That was great. Thank you for posting. Anxiously awaiting that light!

Does anyone have any recent experiance with 16650s in these. I recieved mine but neither of my keepower 2500s fit. If I can get some 16650s that fit ill buy another and keep one and use the other. I did peel the sticker off and it helped but it won't go all the way in without way to much force.

 Wow. How come no one has mentioned this on CPF yet? Looks very nice. One of the comments mentions a potential release date in the end of September (I hope 2017 :-D).
