The picture isn't very good. Just send it to me and I'll take some nice ones and post them for you.
Very nice gunga :D

I can't see those magic eye images. It looks like a still of cell division to me.

Actually that's a very good interpretation!

Ok, I tried a stereogram...

WARNING:
Please don't go dizzy trying to view this....

Using a 15inch screen, it seemed to work best at about 40-50cm (1.5ft)

Below: A thing hidden in the stereogram...

Frankly, I went dizzy looking at this myself but there is kind of an image in there but even I would have no idea based on this.

I see monkeys. Is it a monkey flashlight?

Hi Tejasandre,

It's a little more monkey than flashlight but in the photo it's smiling for sure

Hi mcbrat,

I tried 5 different versions, this was the only one that kind of came close except that the details is all a negative (embossed rather than extruded).

:D

Short Update:

Thing-E, sample bodies landed this morning.

Quite a variety but they are beautiful, even when created by 3D Print.

With just a wee, fractional, slim slither of the most modest of good fortunes, I may even be able to land some of these before Christmas :santa:

Hi tab665,

I'm in a public place right now so I had to try very hard to restrain my laughter as best I could.

If I happen to see your mind, I'll PM you with the location

Just a few weeks so it should go fast enough, and "things" are perfect for minding your find or finding your mind ;)

Sincere apologies for the secrecy,
Tgwnn

I can shift focus and see 3 differing images, negatives and positives from the flat plane, but still no idea. :) nothing to reference against so my mind is jumping all over

Thanks Mo ;)

Minor Update:

Magnets landed today, now they are gorgeous just on their own.
Just 0.5mm in thickness, just tested them and they are perfect

Thanks mk2rocco,
Soon soon soon.

Tested a little something else today published briefly way back when...
and looks like I found a way to make it work out (mostly the manufacturing part), so I might just be able to have something new for christmas in addition to things.

Re: MBI: "Thing" - My newest, top secret "the product with no name"

Was it a "Tiny" little something? Not to be confused with "Thing"?

May well be, or that the tiny little thing is the thing and this thing is another thing
.... things have definitely evolved :)

Another minor update:

I just received a UPS package a few moments ago with a full print of Thing Ultimate.
Far nicer than what my 3D printer can do and it's a beauty!
Everything fit together perfectly, and initial mechanical function check is a go!

I do have to check just one minor spec/function to be 100% sure but it's looking pretty awesome, so now I'll be pushing to get the PCB wrapped up and hope to give a go ahead for at least a first machined sample
