I sure hope it's not a flea, Poppy. Those little cretins are annoyingly resilient to chemicals. That said, bleach is NOT one of their resistances, so if it was still on your used clothes then the washing did the trick.

If your dog is protected, check your roof. Sparrows are like Uber for fleas, and if there's a nest, your house may see more than one stray bloodsucker.

Thanks Jean-Luc. When I was living in Georgia, my roommate had a cat that wasn't allowed outside. But it often sat by the screened in window. We got infested with fleas!

WE bombed the place with 7 powder, and later vacuumed it up, the whole place had wall to wall carpeting. I can't begin to imagine how unhealthy that was. It did the trick though.

Bifrenthin isn't that toxic, in comparison to the golden era insecticides. Those organochlorine mixes would really do a number on pests.
Could do quite a number on non-pests too though. It was a trade off.

3D Printed a duplicate mount for my D25L and glued it to my CERT helmet, came great!

Now I can just unclip it and use it with the OEM mount any time, so I've not "wasted" a headlamp

So, one of my co-workers has been screwing around with the Patrol vehicle at my 3rd shift job. (Namely taking it home off the property, and using it as a commuter vehicle on the weekends when their is no vehicle patrol.) One night, I know something is going to happen. She'll get pulled over, or get into an accident, and then I'll have to train someone else to do this job; again. But I can't be bothered to care anymore at that client's site nor the company I work for.

So, noticed something she had written down on a slip of paper. That the P. vehicle was parked up the block on the North side due to running out of gas. Knew that was B.S. but decided to check it out anyway. Just inside the Pedestrian gate on the North side, I see some drunk wearing clown pants. Literally, giant baggie pants with different colored square patches on them. He's just standing there, looking out towards the street.... where his buddies are parked, just looking back at him. None of them saying a word. But I can tell it's not some sort of angry confrontation between them.

Anyway, I walk behind him, approach the large Vehicle gate just next to the Pedestrian gate. Shine my Eagtac P200LR onto the lock, pretending I'm checking it. Slowly turn, and tell the drunk that unfortunately he's trespassing after hours. I then politely ask him to leave. Turns out he's a happy drunk whose willing to do so. As he walks away towards his friends, they wish me a Merry Christmas. (Yeah, it's April.)

I politely wish them a Merry Christmas. Head back to the desk where one of the few outside cameras that still work is pointed at that Pedestrian gate. Car is gone, and so is Mr. Clown Pants. Couldn't care less about the Patrol vehicle. Yeah, turns out her note at the desk was a lie. No clue whom she left it for.

I did a similar thing yesterday - I used to have one of these I made ages ago, but it got "borrowed" by a fellow flashaholic, I think…
It's a Clipsal conduit mounting clip, with a small neodymium magnet screwed to the bottom. Holds a 1" / 25mm torch like a charm!

I had to go next door and typically at night I'll take an incan C MagLite but I couldn't remember which had batteries in it so instead opt for a Lumens Factory Seraph with a warm LED. After all it is just a short walk or so I think. Well that bright warm LED illuminated a good sized brown snake that I wouldn't have wanted to step on.

Used my S21A CW to inspect a few computer parts (motherboards, cooler fans, PSUs) for dust at my brother's house. Found plenty and cleaned it all out with a very soft paintbrush.

Meanwhile my brother used my Sofirn SP40 practically the entire afternoon to operate on the computers those parts belong to. It was a huge help given his near-distance eyesight has really gone down the drain.

Yesterday, I helped my son to work on his boat. We pumped his fuel tank dry, into two 5 gallon containers, so that we could replace it with fresh gas. I used a Sofirn SP36 blf to monitor the fuel in the container so that it would not overfill, and later he used it to look into the bottom of the tank to see if he got it all out.

Also on another issue, the engine pumped water INTO the boat while it was running. The SP36 was used to locate where the water was coming from. Two locations were located.
1. a disconnected hose, and
2. a drain plug in the block.
Each was apparently used to drain the block, or water jacket, for winterization at the end of last season.

Recharged my GooLoo jump starter pack at work for a few hours.
Technically it counts as flashlight usage since it has an LED flashlight built in, and can be used as a power-bank too.

Just have to stay on top of it, since the manufacturer strongly recommends recharging it once every 3 months.

I have a type S brand jump starter pack that I bought a couple of years ago at Costco.

When you connect it, it MUST read voltage from the battery or it will continue to blink and state "Connect cables to battery" I don't know how low the voltage can be, but it will work at 4.5 volts.

The first time I used it, it was for my lawn mower. Unfortunately one of the battery cables was loose, and didn't make a good connection. When I connected the jump starter, it didn't read enough voltage and kept displaying the above message. It didn't send power to the mower and it didn't start. After I tightened the cables, it worked fine.

Last year at 5AM I went to move my daughter's car in the driveway so we could pack it up for a trip to Florida, and the battery was dead. I used the jump starter, and it worked beautifully. We decided to keep the engine running even when getting gas so as not to need to rely on the jump starter again.

When we got to our destination, I bought a new battery. Thankfully it wasn't a failed alternator.

A couple of weeks ago, my rear windshield defroster stayed on and killed my car's battery. This little battery pack started my 4.6L small 8 cyl, without a problem.

It's a lithium battery pack and has held a charge at 95% for a year at a time. I'm pleased with it. It would be better if it would start an engine without a battery connected though.

I used my flashlight to verify the chamber of my shotgun was empty after I rushed home because wife called me at work letting me know that our dead-end road was on lockdown and surrounded by 30 or so sheriff officers looking for an escaped suspect. She works from home and is the only person on our street right now (other than law enforcement)

When I came through they ID'd me to verify I lived there and searched the car. We are surrounded by tons of woods and swamp. They think he's hiding in there somewhere. Now we are sitting here, listening to the police scanner, waiting for the all-clear.

Weird day.

Well, after two years of near daily use at work (machine shop) generally sitting or getting tossed into a pile of bronze chips and being soaked with coolant, way oil, hydraulic fluid (occassionally) and wd40, being cleaned with denatured alcohol and a rag a few times a day, my acebeam tk16's e-switch is becoming flaky. It still works, but is starting to need multiple clicks/presses to turn on or off. Will probably pick up a Tool AA to replace it.

Received my T3 219b yesterday late afternoon. Immediately used it to illuminate my bathroom's main drain (both sink and shower drains lead to it) to check if it was clogged with sludge. It was, but a quick blast with the bidet hose by the sink cleared it within seconds. No hair to fish out, so all is good.

They caught him!

Right at the end of my road, too. The blockade has been lifted and my poor pups can finally run free.

I'd been keeping them in so the sheriff presence wouldn't have to deal with Furface and her sister Fuzzybones.
