how long is a typical horseride?
That, + the size (=weight) of the light, gives You what is possible ...
imho that is the same as mountainbiking, so at least a full power driven XP-G, if You dont mind the lower runtime, a 2/3-to-full driven XM-L.
Makes about 300 lumen up to 800.
but I have no clue on where to "clamp" the light, there are no bars at a horse
advise: the best headlamp - Zebralight H600w - "clamped" around the helmet with its rubber band
but compared to Your actual headlamp model any light typed of in here is brighter
difference regulated / non regulated:
regulated will keep the light output stable - for shorter runtime and (possibly) a sudden death of the light,
with a non regulated light, the high starting output will immediately decline (by far at the beginning, less reduction later on) and the light will run less bright for longer time,
I prefer regulated ...
