will 1/2 D's run a wa-1185

Will 1/2 D's run a WA-1185 if so how many 1/2 D's would I need. I plan on buying a 3, 4, or 5D mag. (depending on how may 1/2 D's I'll need) I thought 1/2 D's were 1/2 the length of D's but someone said it wasn't exactly 1/2 so now I''m confused.. :shrug:

1/2D's are actually closer to 3/5 or 2/3 than true 1/2D.

You can run 8 high current 1/2D cells safely with the 1185, or 9 that have sat for a little while off the charger.

I run 9 in a 6D body with a FiveMega 3" head.

Which do you think would be brighter? Running a wa-1185 9.6v bulb @ 10.8v or a westinghouse 4424 6v bulb @ 7.2v

The WA 1185 puts out 1200 bulb lumens at 10.8 volts, no 6 volt lamp I know of can do that at 7.2 volts.

What cells are you using? What kind of runtime do you get with that setup? I was thinking about doing something similar with my SL-35X with ring potted WA 1185s and a Carley 1940

I run the 4000MaH cells that Ginseng bought some time ago in a group buy.

Close to an hour of run time.
