Far be it from me to come the voice of reason, but consider pushing your car 20 miles for five bucks. 🤓 YMMV.
It was 94F here today. The air conditioning alone is worth the money.
Still a "dry" 94F by Florida standards, but we know the humidity will be coming soon.

$6.00/gal for Avgas. Eek. It's been awhile since I've been in the plane.

Not certain where this is from in the US,
$7.70 for diesel using credit card

If people don't think this will effect prices of groceries/shipping ect.
,, perfect example how 'headlines' can make industries countless billions

Was it though?
I don't get the meaning of your question. Perhaps you didn't get the joke. Regular gas is so expensive where we live that purchasing the higher octane grades is beyond our ability. Sure, it wasn't all that funny, but it was a joke. Or, perhaps you sensed a deeper meaning. Nope. I only swim in the shallow end of the pool.

Holy Crap!

This is a good place to search for fuel prices: GasBuddy

Prices are dropping across Florida, but at this time the price distribution has quite the spread:
Miami $3.79
Panama City $3.86
Jacksonville $4.05
Clearwater $4.05
Fort Myers $4.15
Orlando $4.19

Don't get wrong, there are some jokers out there charging ridiculous prices. I drove past a station charging $5.45 for regular, when 2 lights down the street Wawa was charging $4.19. Sadly, there was some fool filling up there. Sadly, from the looks of the car, this wasn't the first bad financial decision the person had made before.

Gas is up to $4.65 now, for Regular. If you pay cash.

No digital pumps at the small gas-station near work that I use.
They had to take a number 5 flexible card and use a bit of black electrical tape to close up the opening in the number 5, in order to make it somewhat look like a number 6.

If this keeps up wait until they need to add a fourth digit. I'm reading that some stations in CA may have already broken the $10 mark.
