Thank you for the pictures, Warrior-of-Light. Would you describe the NB27 as more brownish, or does it truly have an inca-like tint? If it leans toward brownish, would you say the NB30 might be a better option?
 
NB27 is more "amber" in direct compare to NB30. In General NBxx has more red like NCxx.

I like my NB27. I am totally happy with this light.

If you like the warm Colors than it is perfect to you, if you like more 4000K+ Lights than you should look for something else. NB27 is really warm.

From left to right are MN01, NB27, NB45, and Twisty.
The MN01 is a Xenon bulb, so it's around 3200K-3300K, while the Twisty is likely to be over 6000K.
If you like incandescent lights, NB27 is the light for you.

I won't wait for the AA HDS because I have a bespoke leather pouch being made for the 123 HDS.

What's the current waiting time for a custom HDS Rotary?
 
I'm thinking about indulging in the luxury of saphire glass... what's your take on it?

Yes. My personal special metal lights will have sapphire lenses... only because of bragging rights. My users are all glass.
Why do we even offer sapphire lenses? Only because people want them.

Congratulations! You Only Live Once, you deserve the best.

I like the Sapphire lens better because it does not use the blue AR coating of the glass lens. imo the Sapphire gives better Tint.

The Sapphire lens imho is better in every way, and I always put it on my Special lights. Any HDS is Special.

The only thing to note is that Sapphire lenses Do have an AR coating, it is a subtle color, almost unnoticeable. So, as with any other AR coating, it can get scratched off if the lens gets wiped with a paper towel (made from Wood).

So, to keep the AR coating intact, on any lens, use a soft cloth made for lenses, not paper.

imo, Bragging rights matter, and since the thought of a Sapphire Lens puts a smile on my face.. I'm enjoying a Vicarious Thrill at the thought of your Sapphire Lensed 2700K 219b light.. Brag all you want, you have every right ;-)
 
Anyone know where I could get my HDS Rotary 250 modded?

Wanting a 4000K Nichia LED, and also modding it so it runs on RCR123s.

(Regular CR123s get too expensive,constantly throwing them out when they're spent.)

(What would be a good place to get 16340 batteries?) (RCR123s.)

Any modders out there,who could swap my Rotary 250's LED for a 4000K Nichia 519 LED? The NB27 tint looks amazing.

Is it possible to strip a black nitrided finish with sandblasting? I thought it would be great if I could make my own panda rotary. But the best thing would be if HDS would sell the Panda again.
