How's The Weather There ?

The dry heat part does indeed make a difference. I've spent a lot of time around the old timers who've lived in Florida before AC. "It's not the heat, it's the humidity." and they're totally correct.

When we got home tonight, it was 86F with 72% humidity outside. The geofence setup with our phones triggers the AC to come on as we're getting close to the house, so it was 80F / 38% (52F dewpoint) inside. It felt worlds different between the two, despite there being a minimal temperature difference.

I do AC differently than most, with the focus on humidity control rather than temperature control. As I type this, the house has settled into 78F/50F dewpoint (38%RH) and it's just right. It feels slightly cool, crisp, fresh. This with 55% humidity would be a bit warm, with 65% humidity would be outright warm and muggy.

^It's been a bit unseasonably humid here this year. That ol' el nino thing doing what el nino does. When it gets above 70-ish we're taking showers/swimming just to cool down a bit. Still just as wet but not as hot

I spoke with him many times over a 3-4 year period, my high school years of all times. Even produced a couple of promos for his radio show back in the day.
A good family friend was also the head of a 3-letter agency.
Somewhere I have a photo of me holding Mary Matalin's / James Carville's daughter, Matty, when she was a baby.
Somehow I got crossed paths with with Clifford Stoll and had a few conversations with him during those times as well.

Quite the cast of characters in my life, with widely varying contrasts of opinions and backgrounds, but it kept things interesting.

Hot and nasty. Dewpoint hovered at 75F-77F from before sunrise to currently. 93F with that type of humidity is just gross. Plenty of rain on the other coast of Florida, but not this side. No appreciable rain expected until at least Thursday. We definitely could use it. The ponds/lakes are still very low.

How come every time I end up out in OR/WA, temperatures are 90+? I've never had that weather out there.
