Mine shows a rosy hue whenever it's used near ambient light. When used in total darkness, I don't see the tint. Just looks like clean white light. It's marvelous. I catch myself treating it like porcelain. May need you guys to remind me from time to time what it really is!

HDS owners purchase multiple HDS lights. Maybe someone can put a poll up to show how many of the current 30 HDS high CRI 219b 4500 R9080 LED aluminum light owners, and others, want more aluminum HDS lights with this amazing emitter.

I do not know how to put a poll up or I would do it.

After receiving my 18560 SW45 light last week, I tried to find it's weakness by crossing beams with all of my best HCRI lights.

Dammit. It has none. They all look sickly and green by comparison. I can't get that over-rosy look I thought might happen in some comparisons, despite what some photos show.

Now I want this LED in every light I own. I immediately went to Clemence's site to see if I could get a few more before they are all gone. Double Dammit, sold out. So glad he managed to get another batch, thanks RCS1300! I have not tried the SW40 firsthand yet, but got a few to play with too.

Not sure if I will buy another HDS to get more of these, I really like my Novatac 120P lights. Will likely be carving a Noctigon to fit in the Luxeon/Seoul P4 cavity on the heat sink of one of those next. Also have got to have one in a low voltage Quark Pro head.

It's WAY over what I'm capable of but, many many moons ago there was an HDS register thread. Can't recall who was in charge of it but it was pretty cool and useful and yes I'm sure one HUGE PITA! Be neat if someone with some time could do that again. Basically it kept track of every HDS light by serial number

Got what I've been wanting! A super low mode for looking through a bag in the woods. Love the programability of this light! Absolutely amazing. I have no idea why I didn't own one before. I do have a question. If I will be the only person that messes with this light is there any reason not to leave it in program mode so I can shift it on the fly?

I would not leave it in programming mode. You could inadvertently push too many clicks during light use and accidentally change the settings.

Personally, I keep my clicky in program mode 24-7...as you say, I'm the only one using it...makes it only a double-click and hold to change the presets as I wish for different situations.

Ditto, I never leave programming mode. Love that turning it off is an option for those who don't want any surprises under pressure, though.

I especially like it on for the Novatac 120P. It is basically a ramping light. Just double-click-press in any preset and it starts ramping up. Repeat to go down. Change presets and it is reverted back to the original saved setting, or turn off there and save it as the new setting for that preset. I don't so much mind the triple click thing, but having to click my way up and down and then press-hold to save, with no option to discard a temporary change makes the new system way less useful for me as an "in the field" tool. What Hogo has described for a dedicated ramping setting sounds really good, but won't happen until a new brain is designed.

You guys must use a different set up to me. Double click hold from on is how I get to constant max, the other way I get max from on is press and hold from any other level for momentary max.
I always turn off programming once I'm finished with it and never feel the need to tweek my levels.
Four levels, momentary, memory and that's pretty well it. A click here, double or triple click there or a double click hold with hold for momentary does it all.

F89, when you are on, it should only take a single click-press hold to lock max on. Double click-press hold will get you there from off, momentary or locked depending on whether you have pseudo momentary activated.

BTW, thanks for being relentless about the F89HG, it's my HG now too! :twothumbs

EDIT: Wait, what? I just checked the manual online, and it says it takes a double click-press hold to lock on preset A. Now I have to check this on my new light. I absolutely know it has always been one click-press hold back before the Novatac days. Don't understand why that would change.

Hmm... Novatac and Legacy manuals show click-press to lock A, Ultimate and current manuals show double click-press. Can't wait to check this, am I just that used to my Novatac lights?

Shows what manuals know hey, yes you're right single click hold does it. Reminds me of a Simpson's episode.... now where's my reaching broom and drinking bird.

OK, whew, I'm not, um, more crazy than usual. A suggestion for manual improvement - get the "double click" out of the "lock preset A" instruction!

"Just wipe it on a sheet of paper. If it turns clear, its your window to weight gain!" ...Dr. Nick

I was thinking of a simple poll to find out how many people want the high CRI 219b 4500 R9080 LED emitter in an aluminum HDS light.

They were offered up until August 1 when we then ran out of stock. Basically 3 weeks. A bunch got put away for folks who ordered titanium lights with them, and both the 4000k and 4500k 9080 emitters will be offered with the bronze and brass runs. Whatever is left over after that will get put up for sale in aluminum lights.

Mine does too but it also works with a single. Only tried one of my lights so far but I'm guessing the single will work with all of them.

Yep, works with my oldest and newest firmware lights (all ACME thread) so I'm assuming it will on my other lights too.
