    A Surefire bulb produces a much higher color temp than a standard household bulb and would probably be a little higher than a halogen track lighting bulb.

    While camping, I prefer to use a headlamp that's floody and neutral/warm white. However, I only use a headlamp around the camp, not for hiking at night.

    Try combining the Preon 1 head with the Preon 2 body and tailcap. If that combination works properly, then I would say there's something wrong with the Preon 2 head. Paul

    I think the warm, hi-cri XPGs are pretty nice, but not as nice as a good incan. When I need to use a flashlight outside, I usually grab my Mag74.
