IMR14500 is recommended.

D4 has super aggressive Thermal management from the factory. I would change that up too. Instructions is a bit confusing...I am going to try it and hopefully make a quick video.
Any specific battery you recommend? I see my 14500 options are quite limited

Our constant advancement made us forget how crazy the numbers are on this light is...1000L and 120Kcd...What?! Remember how the Olight SR90 did 100Kcd and was like 1300-1500L? And it was king a little while too. I remember see a video of it on Youtube and was just mesmerize! Oh and this is the only light so far that hit 1000L with a W2.

1000L and 120Kcd ... Gotta take a moment to soak it in ...
Oh by the way I think I might be able to tweak the W1 to hit 150Kcd...We will see.

Oh okay you're measuring at 30seconds, makes sense. Yeah I didn't see D4S host handling 4600 lumens very long haha.

I just found an easy way to build the SST40 Micro. Price dropped $20. All that ordered one will get a $20 refund. Thanks

I always find it very cool and interesting when this kinda thing pops up from you, do you mind elaborating, in this instance, what you discovered that allowed for such a drop? I imagine this changes from light to light, but that seems like a significant drop, so it makes me wonder what shortcut/ path you found that caused the change.... of course, provided you won't be compromising your pricing strategies....

edit to add: either way, good on ya! Not sure the SST makes sense in this light when the White 2 does 1k lumens at over 3x the candela... but still, very awesome of you to do this especially retroactively!

That's what I want to see! Less lumens is fine in a micro thrower, as it can keep throwing awhile before the heat catches up.

Also, does W1 require less power than W2? If so, the small 14500 battery will last longer.

This little guy is a spill monster, she gets hot real quick too. Not so much of a thrower as the GT line is but for a 14500 class, it spits out tons of light.

Would you do an oslon in the future?
