The "219C 4000K 200lm HiCRI" HDS is from Hogos legendary HDS 2700k, 3000k, 3500k, and 4000k GROUP BUY. Therefore it is definately 219C.

But you are true if you were pointing on the "4000K HiCRI Option" that was available until ~1-2 month ago on the HDS Website. This light was 2109B.

I have a 4000K 1st round group buy that I'm almost positive is an XP-L & not a 219x emitter.

The big reveal for the initial 4000K run was that they were also 325 lumen lights like the then standard 5700-6200K XP-L that was the default offering at the time.

You are very correct. The confusion is that there were multiple group buys offered. The 4000K XP-L that you have came from an early (maybe the first?) group buy that Hogo ran. The last group buy which ran this spring included Nichia 219c in 2700, 3000, 3500, and 4000K.

Makes sense, once I had my 4K I basically stepped out of the group buy domain.

And yes mine was one of the 1st run lights which was nice because I only had to wait 4-6 months unlike the 2nd run lights that were over a year IIRC.

I also know the light you mean, it is the 5th from the right :D. The difference to the 300 lumens ~3900K XP-L (6th from the right) that is currently available @HDS is not that big, and 25 lumens does not really count.

The big reveal for the initial 4000K run was that they were also 325 lumen lights like the then standard 5700-6200K XP-L that was the default offering at the time.
I was meaning the 4000K 219C version from the HDS 2700k, 3000k, 3500k, and 4000k GROUP BUY. That was the biggest group buy that hogo ever made from what I know about his HDS groupbuys. Since this group buy was the largest and final one with really great light colors that are more or less rare , I call it "The legendary Hogo Groupbuy". :)
I like the 4000K of the 219C more than the ~3900K/4000K from the XP-L, also the CRI of the 219C is much higher.

We will see if HDS will do some "incandescent" limited runs in the future. From my point of view, I love the 2700K a lot. It is very warm, like a camp fire. At all the 2700K, 3000K and 3500K lights are great. The 4000K is nice, but I like the 3 others more, don't know why.

Only for interested people who would like to know how the HDS colors will be. All Lights are not modified original by HDS! The only Exception is the Surefire. I already posted this picture here
I hope this little compare will help to decide what color is the right one. :)

Is one of these the special one Hogo and others were going on about. The R9080 or the one nicknamed after one of the posters here?

The 4500k Ultra-HiCRI 219B R9080 is not shown, it would be in the sweet spot between the 5th and 6th from left.

I have a 219B 4500K R9080 in the Queue. but since Hogo is not in Office no Lights were shipped. I hope my light will shipped on next Monday. If not I Need to contact HDS, to ship the light in September... it is Always the same. I am on vacation.
I am also exited getting the
219B 4500K R9080. The beamshots that hogo did were very promising. :)

How "orange" looks the phosphor on your HiCri 100 compared to the one on ebay?

Based on Jon's post, looks like there is such a thing as a 100 lumen non-HCRI light. But I compared my HCRI P4 with a cool P4 and the photo on Ebay, and despite a bit of flair on the LED in the picture, I would have to say that looks a lot more like the HCRI emitter - not as yellow as my cool P4, more orange-ish like the HCRI.

I still have a suspicion that there is a sapphire crystal, in one of the messages of stream #19 there was a photograph of three glasses, it was evident that the sapphire is thicker. This suspicion arose because of the pronounced chamfers on the edge of the glass. My measurements show 2.8 mm. Can anybody tell the thickness of the standard glass in mm?

More about the clip for rotary, I see that many people use clips from other lanterns, adding a rope to keep the clip in place, that if you simply increase the captures of the clip to the width of the narrow part of the lantern so that it can not move independently + add a notch on the outside, the same as on the lantern itself (it's just a random thought, do not pay attention) the clip itself is made of titanium, titanium is softer than anodizing and will not made a scratching bottleneck when installing and removing

2.79 for UCL and 3.05mm for sapphire. Regarding the rope thing I actually have a great design in mind to build but intend to patent it plus I need supplies from The good ol USA and at the moment I m financially struggling so the project is on the back burner at the moment.
Check my post in HDS Around the world, thought I was going to lose my HDS Navy Seal to the rats and the water but got lucky.

Where can I find these beamshots that Hogo did of the 219b 4500k r9080?

What color temp was the 100 High CRI?

4000ºK

But that was the old Seoul High CRI...you had a very white hotspot, with a wide variety of tints across the beam. Probably not for white wall hunters, but really nice in real life.

How does it look compared to the 3700k? Warmer?
