Now seems like the right time for a good old fashioned moon mode runtime test. The test began at 7:00pm EST on May 30

I have three contenders:
200lm 219b r9080 running on a Vapcell INR16340 that tested 758mAh at 500mA
325lm XP-G3 NLT running on a Vapcell INR16340 that tested 705mAh at 500mA
200lm 219c high noon running on Duracell CR123

The r9080 appears dimmer than the others on low so I'm interested to see how that plays out. Will update later.
In a surprising twist, the high noon ended it's run today concluding the test. That leaves us at 5-5.5 days for the XP-G3 and 219b on 16340s and about 6.75 days for the 219c on a CR123 primary.

Overall not too shabby but if I need super long runtime I'd definitely take a zebralight.

Thanks for testing, this is useful :) There is only 1 question, moon mode - which levels of 24 were chosen?

In a surprising twist... 5.5 days.. on 16340s and about 6.75 days .. on a CR123 primary.

Yes Im also suprised,
I expected the CR123 to last twice as long,
but it actually lasted less than 25% longer..

thanks for taking the time to share your tests

Manufacturer, shelf life, conditions in which the battery was stored, deviations in the production batch. I can only trust the 16340, whose capacitance and voltage were tested by quality equipment before testing, such as SkyRC or similar.

Thanks for the test. Pretty interesting to see the returns diminish so quickly on the CR123a. I remember the old HDS stuff was super efficient (not that this is at all bad). Then again, like Desert.snake said, there could be a bunch of other factors at play.

For the experiment, I also put Executive on level 1, 219C 5700K, 16340 Olight ORB-163C05, from the factory is estimated at 550 mAh, battery tester shows 518 mAh, voltage at start of test 4.186 V, start time today at 10.28.

I put together a little Pelican 1010 travel kit for when I'm away from home a few days. I'll have one HDS on me and the case contains a backup HDS Rotary, three 16340s, magnetic charger, eight CR123s, and just for fun an HDS user manual.

Thanks! The battery sleeve is from illumn. It's for 18650 but works fine with 2x 16340.
