I've ordered the 219 LLL but I KNOW I want to replace all my M61 Malkoff's with them

Still thinking about if I should do a mass buy or one by one. I sure hope Craig has a lot on order or is going to make them regular stock

M61W, 4000K, 75 CRI.
M61 219 4500K, 92 CRI.

The M61 219 will be whiter and have higher quality output - colors will be rendered better :)

Craig

It probably doesn't matter but I thought the first version for the M61W's was 4500K? Mine compared to my warm Haiku from Don sure seems closer to 4500K where the Haiku seems about 4000K.

Yeah that first run 61W was warmer than any of the rest I think, been awhile.

Actually the first run was cooler than what the W's are now. That's what I'm saying. I know my warm Haiku isn't under 4000K and my first run M61W is cooler and whiter than the McGizmo. Honestly the best warm (neutral) tinted light I've personally ever seen that M61W I have. But it's definitely slightly but noticeably cooler than the Haiku I have. That's why I was thinking and though I had read they were 4500K?

The original M61W were 5000K which many thought was too cool. The next batch were quoted as 4000K but Gene thought they were actually nearer 4500K. The newer ones are 3700K. Oveready are now selling a 4000K version but I don't know what its CRI value is.
Looking forward to my 219 to compare.

:thumbsup:Can't wait to get my M60F, just like you said a wall of light. Now that's what I'm looking forward to the most. Edit: Got it today and it's definitely a keeper.

M60F and M60LF are unbelievable. Wall of light. Make the old L4 look sick. :D

The Nichia M31 219 any idea what the OTF will be on it?

I am told that the M61 219 dropin will do 200 OTF (conservatively rated, of course!) :D
Gene is very impressed with the output.

i dont like running my m61 in my elzetta, it creates a dark ring in the spill beam but in my 9p its a beautiful clean spill beam.

Do you have the crenalated bezel? Its what i have too and perhaps the low profile bezel would rid of the ring.

from a test I did a long time ago with a M61W:

as you can see there's a super long taper as it falls out of regulation early on. The 3100 will give it an extra boost!

What are junkies without their next fix? :D

Thanks for posting the beamshot. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. ;) Very nice beam pattern on that Nichia. Like a blanket of light. And nice tint too. :D

I am still curious about the HCRI with the 4500K white tint. How does the 219 HCRI compare with say the M61W 3700K 80CRI or M61HCRI in picking up colors?
