I’m picturing single mode twisty, springs on both ends, potted to the ends of the earth, and a battery vampire. Yes it will be a bit chunky, but who am I to judge. I guess I’m envisioning Gene’s take on the original E01. 5mm and no lens would make me happy as well.

It's a pity the 5mm Yuji are extinct...If a small boost driver with at least the efficiency of a solar lantern could be found, we would be looking at around 15ish hours at 4-6 lumens with an eneloop AAA. I have a solar lantern that does 6-8 hours on a full charge (350mAh AA NiMH) and over 2 days straight on a 2500mAh NiMH AA, and extrapolation from either number yields that 15ish hours. With an added resistor on the running end, it might be possible to stretch that runtime even further.

I know it’s said that the springless battery crusher twisties are the most durable, but I’d argue for springs at both ends all day. I’ve had multiple batteries get damaged on the negative end to the point that the light won’t function correctly with them. If your light works but your battery takes a crap you still have no light. Protect those batteries! But yes, I still want a Peak…🤔

Has anyone wished for a MDC CR123 functionality in the P60 format? I have a McGizmo CR123 body and Malkoff Titanium VME head just begging for a 3 volt 3 level light like the MDC CR123. I'll beg if it will help!
Closest I've came. Works pretty well.

I have a M31W in that body with a clicky switch instead of the gas pedal switch.

I like this idea if it runs like any of the M31 series, so I could run 2xAA with that.

Maybe we should beg Kosen to beg Gene for an M31...361...or...we need a better name for that, haha.

Wouldn't it be an M331 ?
That's probably right, haha.
Yes. Not re-inventing the wheel here. The 3v MDC exists. Just put that in a different box. A P-60 box. Let us use it in things like the Ti VME head. Jus' Sayin'.
Sure, but we're saying, like an M361, but 3V, so it could go in the VME head. Thinking about it, it's kind of surprising that doesn't exist.

I know right?! The whole idea is putting the one on the left (my most used light in my collection) into the one on the right! (the Venerable McGizmo/Malkoff)

Kosen, you getting this?

Dear @Gene43,
Please take some time to design a AAA light based on the Chuck Norris of AAA flashlights the Fenix E01. Make it stout, make it twisty, make it with a 5mm led and double springs, make it nifty.

Love,

My wish is a MDC-sized single-output twisty that utilizes the high-low ring functionality.

I’ll take it in AA 90 lm (H) - 8 lm (L) and AAA 8lm (L) - .3lm (LL) formats with the 10 degree optic / 5 degree filter from the Wildcat.

I also wouldn’t be opposed to the Cree XPL used in the Wildcat as the neutral tint is wonderful. Although, I think a good majority of us would prefer the SST-20 in 5700k and 3000k for the Cool and Neutral options, respectively (if you won’t give us Nichias that is (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Please and thank you!

Edit: Included proposed output levels for AA and AAA options.

Edit 2: Included proposed optics.

Edit 3: Included proposed LEDs
