    Review Klarus XT11GT

You're right about the hi version being overdriven. I measured amp draw at the tail cap at 5.95 amps! As a comparison my newly acquired eagtac tx30c2 with xhp35-hi draws only 4.6 amps. The klarus gets hotter much faster.Throw looks similar but the beam on the eagtac is much more focused with...

    Eagletac TX30C2 Nichia 219C

I also have both those lights, and both with xhp35-hi. The same holds true for me, the Eagletac Hotspot is quite a bit smaller than the klarus. I like how the Eagletac is a much smaller light, yet has a wider and deeper reflector that provides much better focus. I will definitely be getting this...

Eagletac now with XHP35 HD, XHP35 HI, and Nichia 219 C hi CRI

It doesn't appear to have an electronic lock out, but a slight loosening of the tail cap renders the light inoperable. Nothing in the user guide says it has any kind of lockout

Eagletac now with XHP35 HD, XHP35 HI, and Nichia 219 C hi CRI

I just received my tx30c2 with xhp35-hi emitter. I like it very much. Compared to my Klarus xt11gt with same emitter, the eagle tac is much shorter, and even the head is thinner. However the reflector on the Eagletac is a bit wider and much deeper than the klarus, which I like. The beam on the...

Malkoff MDX series retaining / hi-lo ring torque question

I've had mine come loose a couple times initially because I was afraid I would over tighten it, so the last time I really cranked it down tight.Has been good ever since. I used a pair of snap ring pliers, they work much better than needle nose pliers. My md2HOT is carried and used usually 5 out...

    Malkoff "Hound Dog"

Looks like maximum recommended wattage for an xpl is 10 watts. Gene is pushing 19 watts to the xpl on the super hound dog, compared to about 6.5 watts on an m61 HOT. Super hound dog must have great heatsinking to handle that much extra wattage

    Malkoff "Hound Dog"

It's simple to achieve higher numbers than cree's data sheets. Simply overdrive the emitter. Cree's specs are always on the conservative side. The super hound dog looks like it has great heatsinking thus allowing the xpl to be overdriven.

    Malkoff "Hound Dog"

Since the primary focus of the super hound dog is throw, I'm surprised and a bit dissapointed that Gene didn't utilize one of the 2 available HI emitters. Maybe he'll make a super duper hound dog with xhp35-hi in the future

First flashlight using the new 20700 cell?

I believe tesla has dumped the 20700 format and is going with a 21700 aka 21-70. They claim 18650 format was an "accident" and not optimal at all. Currently Metabo is using 20700 in their battery packs, but no one else is using this format, so I doubt we will see them in flashlights.

    Favorite 2xAAA Stylus/Pen Lights

I have about 10 2aaa pen lights and my favorite is the Gen 2 pelican 1920. It also throws better than my other penlights with a smaller more defined hotspot. A close 2nd for me is my Inova xp, I use these 2 pen lights the most. I run these 2 on eneloop pro

    New Armyteks

Has anyone measured amperage at the tailcap? I'd like to know how much more juice these new Xhp35-hi lights are drawing from the battery. My doberman pro required 3.4 amps on turbo
