    *NEW* Surefire Titan-A (1*AAA, 15/125 lumen)

I got my Titan-A today ordered directly from Surefire after it had been on backorder. My copy has a slightly off center LED, but the beam is a nice and smooth flood. Slight blueish tint at the edges of the beam but a pure white center to my eyes. I can operate it one-handed with a little...

    Advice needed for old lights

You can mod that old KL1 head with a Seoul P4. That's what I did with mine. It makes it a simple indestructable quality light that I use for general around the house use and decent light output. If you can figure out how to open up the head its not too hard to swap the LED. I'm not very...

Need a light for a small child 2-4 years old

When my son was about 2 (he is now 3) he claimed my Energizer 1AA Tactical LED light as his own. I didn't pick it out for him, he chose it out of the flashlights I had on my nightstand (funny how that happens with kids). For whatever reason he found that light was the easiest for him to turn...

Kids flashlight - need alternative to Playskool

My 2 year old adopted my Energizer 1AA Tactical LED flashlight, available at Target for $15-20 as his own. Its probably a little too bright for small children, but we always remind him not to shine it in anyone's eyes or look directly in it and he never has. It doesn't turn off automatically...

What is The Best Way To Get Rid of Mice

We had an exterminator come over and he told me that while the snap traps like the old wooden ones are effective, they might not be the best solution since there might be infectious bodily fluids to clean up. Made sense to me. He said slow acting poisons are better since they go somewhere else...

New 2AA Energizer LED at Target

These weren't the Ultimate Lithium flashlights. Looking on Energizer's website, I found this page that shows the "1 Watt Tactical Metal Light" in 1AA and 2AA sizes. The 1AA has been discussed here on CPF a lot a few months ago, but this is the first time I saw the 2AA. The light I saw...

New 2AA Energizer LED at Target

Anyone get a good look at this one yet? I just saw it on the shelf tonight in the flashlight section. The wife wanted to get home quickly so I didn't have time to closely examine it. Looks like it had a Cree LED, beefy aluminum body, and claimed to be water resistant. Sells for $19.99...

    Safety of Lithium Primary AA's?

I was just planning on using them in basic off-the-shelf 2AA flashlights, more specifically the Inova X2 and the 2AA Mini MagLED. I don't know the current draw of those two flashlights, but I don't think they are much more than 500mA.

    Safety of Lithium Primary AA's?

Does anyone know if lithium AA's (i.e. 1.7V Energizers) are as likely to have rapid venting with flame as lithium CR123's do, especially when used in series? I was thinking of keeping some in 2AA flashlights around the house and in the car for emergencies but if they have the same potential...

Long run time low low light

I've got a newborn son also and the best solution I've found is to use a small battery powered lantern like the River Rock from Target and diffuse the light with a small white paper bag or even a sheet of white paper taped together to form a cylinder. I think this is better than a dim...

Replacing Lux III with a K2 TFFC?

A Mr. Bulk VIP with the Bulkhead reflector. I did a quick test of the swap without soldering or gluing anything down, just letting the surface tension of the thermal compound hold the emitter in place. The beam has some rings in it but there is a huge difference in brightness. I destroyed the...

Replacing Lux III with a K2 TFFC?

As the title says, I am planning to replace a Lux III emitter in a light with a K2 TFFC. Can anyone tell me what kind of adjustments I need to make so that the K2 has proper focus in the reflector? I hope the K2 needs to sit higher than the original since I can't really lower it into the heatsink.

    New Inova X2

I went to Target today to see if they had an X2. No X2's in stock, but the X1's now have a new packaging. The new packaging is flat carboard surrounding the flashlight, which is sealed in a small blister pack, very similar to the pictures flashlite posted above for the X2. But now the X1 says...

Pregnant fiance could have Swine Flu. Best friend to blame..

Hope everything turns out ok. Swine flu or not, I agree that your fiance's friend is an idiot to expose a newborn and pregnant woman to any possible sickness.
